What is Colourcat?
Search for something as simple as a “pink turtleneck jumper”, and you’re met with every possible shade: coral, dusty rose, blush and fuchsia to name a few. Some you love, others you dislike, but with so many options it quickly becomes overwhelming.
This is the result of shopping platforms treating colour as an afterthought. Grouping everything together into broad categories like “pink” or “red”. The result is endless choice, but very little clarity.
You scroll. You filter. You open tab after tab without any real direction. Somewhere along the way shopping just stops feeling enjoyable and begins to feel tedious.
How Colourcat changes that
Colourcat brings together clothing from your favourite brands and organises it not just by colour – but by shade. Inspired by colour analysis, we organise clothing into seasonal palettes – Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter so you can shop with clarity.
So instead of searching endlessly, you can go straight to the tones you love. For example if you love light mint clothes, by shopping the Autumn palette you can find tops from all your favourite brands in light mint all in one place.
Or shopping the Winter palette means finding deep greens.
Navigating by season means filtering out the shades you aren't interested.
Why colour matters more than you think
When choosing what to wear, we tend to focus on:
Style
Fit
Fabric
Colour
But in reality, colour is often the deciding factor. You can have the perfect fit and fabric—but if the colour doesn’t suit you, you won’t reach for it.
How Colourcat Works
Every item on Colourcat is analysed using AI to understand its exact colour composition and matched against the four seasonal palettes. Each item is then assigned a season and given a season score, showing how closely it aligns with each palette. This helps you quickly find the clothes in your favourite colour palettes.
Alongside this, every product features a colour tile which is a visual breakdown of the shades within the garment. The larger the colour appears on the tile, the more dominant the colour it is in the piece.
