Studies have found that exposure to red can increase heart rate and heighten attention. It is also a colour rich in cultural significance – signalling power, prosperity and celebration.

Red is a surprisingly versatile colour to wear which pairs effortlessly with navy, camel, chocolate brown, and even soft blush tones. The most common and universally flattering red shades are true red, cherry red and berry-tones. This is because they balance both warm and cool tones which work well on many skin tones.

For Spring/Summer 26, British Vogue has reported that the trending shade of red is tomato red. Bright shades like tomato red can be intimidating, however injected pops of red into an outfit with for examples accessories can bring an outfit to life. This styling technique is called the “Unexpected Red Theory”.
