The ghosts of watchmakers from the past came to me and said that Detrash needed a field watch.. They said to take influences from the past; like the railway minute track from the Dirty Dozen, the twisted lugs from the Polerouter and double-domed sapphire crystal.. They said to bring it up to date with a bit of colour, a Miyota 9039 automatic movement, a slim case, a bit of fun text and most importantly eco-friendly materials; a strap made from recycled plastic bottles and a case made from 80% recycled steel.. They said to make these in limited batches and put each watch's individual issue number on the back.. They said to give a share of each watch sold to eco charities via 1% for the planet.. They told me "If you make it, they will come".. Important notes:. 1) If the text above sounds like gibberish, you need to watch more 80's Kevin Costner films. There was life before Yellowstone.. 2) I made a design choice to use a dark orange lume on the hands, and white lume at 12/3/6/9. This looks great during the day. At night the white glows a lot brighter than the orange. Although it is the best quality Superluminova lume; if you are buying this exclusively to tell the time at night you may be disappointed. The orange does glow, just not that bright.. 3) The strap colour is officially khaki. I would describe it as greyish-green. Others might describe is as greenish-grey. Either way it looks great.
